Caroline Sampson

Caroline Sampson, AWM Chair, qualified as an archivist in 1990 and has since worked in local government, central government and higher education archive services.  She merged and then relocated Wolverhampton Archives and Local Studies in the 1990s, designed and delivered Warwickshire County Record Office’s major build and refurbishment project in 2000/2001 and led on the creation of Heritage and Culture Warwickshire in 2010, moving eight federated services into an integrated service delivery model.

A founder member of the Archive Service Accreditation Committee, she is passionate about championing archive services to evolve and demonstrate the importance of the work they do at all levels of society.  She now works as a freelance archive consultant.
