Opportunity to lead Archives West Midlands

Archives West Midlands(AWM) is seeking to appoint a new Chair to our Board of Trustees. We are an independent strategic partnership of archive services, our organisation is subscription based and we were formally launched as a charity in June 2016.

Over a six year period AWM has become an incredibly effective network, we have facilitated joint working which has enabled our Members to be stronger and better placed to advocate and promote the importance of their collections.  We have developed and delivered successful training and development programmes which have focused upon digital preservation, equality and diversity and sharing best practice from across the sector.  AWM continues to provide a confident and coherent voice for the region’s archives.

As Chair you would lead an experienced Board of Trustees and be accountable for enabling and encouraging AWM’s future development and support for its Members, developing future funding bids for projects and pieces of work which support our key aims and priorities and continue to build confidence in the organisation through your leadership with partners, stakeholders, Trustees and our Members.

This is an exciting and challenging role; the key responsibilities, accountabilities and application are outlined within the pack attached.

If you have further questions you can contact our existing Chair – Janene Cox OBE.

Our annual report is available via our website.

The closing date for applications is Saturday 9th July 2022 and we will be interviewing via Microsoft Teams on the Tuesday 26th July 2022.
