Making Progress in Digital Preservation
November 17, 2020 1:00 PM - 4:30 PM
Archives West Midlands is delighted to announce that it will be hosting ‘Making Progress in Digital Preservation’ – a virtual training workshop provided by the Digital Preservation Coalition. This follows on from the success of ‘Gettting Started in Digital Preservation’, which AWM hosted last year. It takes participants to a more advanced stage where they can make practical, informed decisions.
The workshop includes
- Making a Case for Digital Preservation
- Writing a Digital Preservation Policy
- Skills for Digital Preservation
- Software for Digital Preservation
- Preservation Planning Workshop
This course is complementary to Novice to Knowhow as it covers management and policy issues as well as giving an overview of technical issues, whereas NtoK focuses on the technical requirements of digital preservation.
The training will be delivered remotely over two sessions, Tuesday 17th November 1.00-4.30pm and Tuesday 24th November 1.00-4.30pm. There will be a half-hour break in each of these sessions.
This training is open to both AWM members and non-members. A service may send as many participants as they wish. The total cost of the training (i.e. covering both sessions) will be £15 per staff member or volunteer from a member organisation, and £30 per staff member or volunteer from a non-member organisation.
We look forward to hearing from you.
